San Diego Fifty-Sixers (SD 56ers) participate in numerous activities throughout the year.
Monthly Meetings
Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month from January to November. These meetings begin at 7:15 PM, preceded by a social gathering at 6:45. They are held at:
Sharp Spectrum Center
8695 Spectrum Center Court
San Diego, CA
Social Events
Other social events include a summer picnic and a Halloween party. The highlight of each year is our Open House Tour with as many as twenty families inviting members to view their village displays.
With the growing interest in Halloween displays, the Open House Tour now begins in October and continues from November through January with winter presentations.
Lighting Up Lives Program
SD 56ers support the community through our Lighting Up Lives Program.
In 1996, club members, in collaboration with local retailers, provided Children's Hospital with a permanent collection of Department 56 villages.
Since then, members have met the weekend after Thanksgiving to create North Pole and Snow Village displays to brighten the lives of young patients during the holidays. At Ronald McDonald House, members create a North Pole display to help cheer patients and their families.
